Hey all, since Mr.Kraken apparently flew the coop back in February without appointing any other admins, I've contacted Wikia Community Central about adopting the Shining Wiki so we can have someone on here with administration powers. That way we don't need to worry about a buildup of articles that need to be deleted, persistent vandalism, etc.
Anyway, they told me to open up a discussion of who should take on the role of new admin. I'm willing to do the job myself; as you may have noticed, I've been doing a hefty load of editing this past month and that's probably going to continue for a while. At the least, I won't neglect to check in every few days to see if there's anything going on on the Wiki. Ordinarily I'd ask someone else to be admin, but since I've been by far the most active editor here for the past few months, I suspect I'm the only one with the time and inclination to do it. That said, if you would like to be admin, or otherwise have objections to me being admin, please speak up.--Martin III 13:48, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
I have no objections. The Wiki really needs an Admin, but I wouldn´t do this for myself. Good Luck. Balthier99 18:02, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
- I'm in favour of Martin III adopting the Shining Wiki too - he's made a lot of headway and improvement to it, and he's also got a good record of Shining series knowledge and making sure details are suitably researched so can be relied upon to make sure articles are as correct as possible. -- Cullsoft 10:08, October 05, 2010 (GMT)
- Thanks for the responses, guys. The folks at Wikia Community Central gave me admin and bureaucrat rights, so these past few days I've gone through and got rid of most of the articles that need to be deleted and have gotten organized for a sort of second wind for the Shining Wiki. I'm going to open up a couple new discussion topics now on proposed standards for the Wikia and some articles that I'm considering deleting... Please check them out so we can make some community direction!--Martin III 19:04, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
