Hiro is a young knight, the protagonist of the game Shining in the Darkness.

Powers & Magic

Hiro's powers primarily come from brute force. He has the highest attack power of the playable characters (with the exception of Gila in early parts of the game), and his weapon selection gives him access to usually the strongest weapons available.

Although Hiro has no magic powers (his MP never increases over 0), he can still conjure magic spells through using magical items, such as casting Blaze when using the Fire Sword. Although there is a risk of most usable weapons breaking, this gives Hiro access to magic spells if and when needed.

Trivia

Hiro's name is never mentioned in game, and the player is always forced to give him a name when starting a new game (i.e. no default name given if no name is entered, the player must enter a name of their choice). Although there have been numerous guesses as to what the protagonist's name may be, code hacking has revealed the name is already set as "Hiro" when a new game is started but then set as blank when the player is prompted to enter a name.
