Lyle is an optional playable character in the games Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention and Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon.

Background[]

Lyle and Guntz are friends. Both of them were apprentices of Dr. Crock. Lyle and Guntz were both separately told by Dr. Crock to meet up with the Shining Force at Pao plains. Guntz did. However, Lyle's terrible sense of direction got him lost, and instead of going to Uranbatol, he ended up in Alterone. Eventually, he found his way to Rudo, where he eagerly joined up with Max and the rest of the Shining Force.

Personality[]

Lyle is fairly easy-going and takes pride in his accuracy. He has a notoriously bad sense of direction, however.

Strategy[]

Lyle is overall the strongest archer and can completely replace Hans and/or Diane in their roles of range support. He is able to compete late-game with many other fighters in the force.

As a centaur, he is subject to terrain issues with mountains and hills; all of which he faces for a few battles after he joins. This on top of his restrictions as an archer-like class which is that he cannot fire in the squares right next to himself.

Powers & Magic[]

Lyle can cast no spells and has no powers.

Quotes[]

"I may get lost all the time, but I'm a crack shot."

"If you ever have a flying pest that you need taken care of, just give me a call! I'll bring it down in a flash!"

"Dragon, shmagon! Taste the power of Dr. Crock's mechanical crossbow!"

Trivia[]

As Lyle himself states when confronting Dark Dragon, Dr. Crock was the inventor and creator of Lyle's bazooka, even though Lyle calls it a 'mechanical crossbow'.
