A Priest is a religious minister of the gods of light. In most games of the Shining series up to and including Shining Force III Scenario 3: Bulzome Rising, priests serve several essential gameplay functions, including saving the game. The one exception is Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict, in which the robot Adam serves the same gameplay functions as a priest.

Details[]

With few exceptions, a priest can be found in every town. However, the party rarely stops in towns in the games Shining Force Gaiden, Shining Force Gaiden II, and Shining Force CD, so instead a priest travels with the party. Lowe, Mayfair, and (briefly) Sarah serve as the party's personal priest in these games.

Strategy[]

You must save the game to quit playing, otherwise you lose all gameplay since the last save. Saving the game and promoting characters is free, but reviving members and curing them costs money. Always revive and cure all afflicted characters when you visit the priest, as the fees for both are nominal. Even without any form of grinding, you will nearly always have enough money to both equip all your characters with the most advanced weapons and pay for all the priest's services.
