Rick Elwood (リック・エルウッド, Rikku Eruuddo) is the main protagonist of the game Shining Hearts and third protagonist of the game Shining Blade. He is a young swordsman who has drifted to the island of Wyndaria. An amnesiac, he works at the La Coeur bakery alongside Neris or Amil or Airy (depending on the player's choice).

Shining Blade

Rick is a swordsman from Crantor who serves in the Valeria Liberation Front. He uses the Soul Blade in battle and reveals that his blade's hosts were previously his close companions from Crantor: Amil, Airy and Neris.

Rick encounters Rage whom he tries to brush off initially despite Rage's efforts to get along with the mysterious swordsman. To that end, Amil tries to encourage Rage to perceive Rick as the person she's known him to be rather than the person he's become following the massacre at Crantor.

Abilities

As a swordsman prior to the beginning of the game, Rick specializes in using both sword and shield.

Trivia

• In the anime Shining Hearts: Bread of Happiness, he works alongside with all three heroines, rather than choosing one of them in the game.
