Sig is a playable half-giant Monk character in the games Shining Force Gaiden and Shining Force CD.

Background

Sig is the nephew of Gong, who taught him everything he knows, according to Sig. He is bald and has blue eyes. He wears a tan tunic covered with a green vest, a blue scarf, and green foot coverings with no shoes. He carries a staff.

Personality

Sig is a soft-spoken individual, but quite willing to fight when the need arises.

Strategy

Unlike most monks, who are essentially fighters with some healing ability, Sig is essentially a healer with some fighting ability. Though initially Attack is Sig's strongest stat, after a few levels Cray has the higher Attack by far, while Sig has a solid lead in every other stat. This trend holds for the vast majority of Shining Force CD.

Though Sig is of course outmatched as a healer by Mayfair and as an attacker by Cray, his HP and Defense gives him much better survivability than either of those two. And when it comes to Book 3, Sig also generally has better stats than Luke. If keeping your healers alive is one of your chief worries, Sig's durability makes him an excellent fit for your style.
